Speaking on the issue of the "pursuit of happiness" in our culture, Rit Varriale says in his book Reformation in Responsibility, "We have become the first society in the history of the world to consistently pay court jesters (athletes and entertainers) more money than philosophers, physicians, and kings (educators, doctors, and politicians).
